About us
Hi, I’m Hayley, the owner and operator of Out There Gear Repair.
I’m a gear nerd who loves a problem to solve- I started Out There Gear Repair after years working in the outdoor industry and administration and seeing a need for high quality, durable repairs.
I’m originally from New Zealand, and now live in Revelstoke with my Canadian husband Dennis. I love being outdoors - kayaking, rafting, skiing, running, hiking, biking, bird watching, climbing, surfing, you name it, I’m probably up for it!
I am super passionate about technical gear repair, it's the perfect blend of my skills and worlds - Outdoor apparel and gear are tools to help us access nature and adventure, and bringing fresh life to them is so rewarding! I love that each repair is unique keeps me thinking and upskilling.
I believe that repair is more than the stitches added - In a world that is full of consumerism, having your loved items refreshed for many more adventures is way to make a difference to this culture. Repair is also great way to add personality to your gear, take real ownership, and show your story.
